CLARITY MATTERS
As preferences evolve toward moderation and wellness, clarity in product labeling has never been more critical.
NABEV’s trademarked “NA” (Non-Alcoholic) and “AF” (Alcohol-Free) symbols provide a standardized, easily recognizable way to identify non-alcoholic offerings.

Beverage contains
no more than 0.5% alcohol by volume (ABV)

Beverage product contains 0.0% alcohol by volume (ABV)
DID YOU KNOW?
"Non‑Alcoholic” Doesn’t Always Mean Zero
A simple guide to NA vs AF and how to choose what’s right for you.
The 10‑Second Truth
Non‑Alcoholic (NA) usually means less than 0.5% alcohol not zero.
Alcohol‑Free (AF) means 0.0% ABV.
If zero alcohol matters to you, choose AF.
Why This Catches People Off Guard
Many people assume :“Non‑alcoholic = no alcohol. ” That’s not always true.
Under common labeling rules, beverages marked non‑alcoholic can still contain small amounts of alcohol enough to matter for some people, maybe you.
WHEN DIFFERENCE REALLY MATTERS
Even trace alcohol can matter if you are:
Pregnant or trying to conceive
Taking medications labeled “avoid alcohol”
Managing liver disease or other medical conditions
In recovery or living alcohol‑free
Following religious or personal abstinence
In safety‑sensitive roles
If any alcohol is a concern, AF is the safer choice.
Friendly Note: This is for general education only and does not replace medical or professional advice.

-

-
You are pregnant or trying to conceive
