NABEV Alcohol Content Certification

NABEV independently evaluates applicant-supplied, product-specific evidence and the reviewed package version before approving certification and authorizing use of the applicable NA or AF mark.

Authority statement

NABEV evaluates whether a specifically identified product conforms to the applicable NA or AF classification criteria under its documented federal pathway and whether the reviewed package displays a permitted numerical alcohol-content statement.

NABEV does not manufacture beverages or conduct or commission product testing.

What NABEV Certifies

NABEV operates an independent alcohol‑content certification program governing the use of the Federally Registered NABEV NA™ and NABEV AF™ marks.

NABEV NA®

Less than 0.5% alcohol by volume under the applicable federal pathway.
Alcohol content supported by applicant-supplied, product-specific evidence.
Certification aligned with applicable FDA and TTB labeling requirements
Certification applies to specifically approved product, SKU and reviewed package version

NABEV AF®

Finished product contains 0.0% ABV
0.0% alcohol by volume, supported by evidence sufficient under the applicable federal pathway and NABEV’s approved evidence requirements.

Who Can Be Certified

Certification is available to companies responsible for the manufacture, import, handling, or sale of adult non‑alcoholic beverages.

Applications are accepted from manufacturers, producers, brand owners and authorized responsible parties seeking certification for specifically identified products intended for the U.S. market.Retailers, restaurants, hospitality operators and tourism partners may participate in NABEV education and visibility initiatives, but their businesses, menus and locations are not NABEV Certified.

Certification is granted only for approved products, SKUs, not entire companies by default.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Free eligibility screening.
Secure product/SKU application.
$25 non-refundable processing fee.
Applicant-supplied evidence.
Separate Finding A and Finding B.
Independent evaluation.
Separate certification decision.
Licensing and artwork approval after certification approval.
Public directory activation.
Annual NABEV renewal and material-change reporting.
